# How Long Does Grout Color Sealing Last in Arizona?

The honest answer is that it depends entirely on what was applied. A penetrating impregnator, the kind sold in a jug at a home improvement store, is measured in months in Arizona. A professionally applied grout color seal is measured in years, and on residential floors we are comfortable enough with the chemistry to back it with a 15-Year Warranty. Those two products get called the same thing in conversation, which is why homeowners assume all sealing fails. It does not. The failure rate you have experienced belongs to one specific category of product.

## Two Different Products, Two Different Lifespans

A penetrating sealer soaks into the pore structure of cementitious grout and leaves an invisible hydrophobic layer behind. Nothing is bonded to the surface.
